Mailen Aportela was born in Miami  and raised in New Jersey. As a Cuban/Colombian American, Mailen believes being Latina is a superpower and it has become her goal to empower other Latinas to fully embrace who they are and where they come from. 

 

Mailen graduated from Rutgers University - New Brunswick, NJ with a degree in Strategic Communication and Public Relations. She is a creative that values connecting storytelling with her own voice,  enthusiasm, to communities close to her heart.
